Tour Journal page 2: Free Food Everywhere!

7/30 Monday:

Full of energy from our concert the night before we woke up with an urge to move our bodies. Since it was to early to dance. We decided to take it to the courts for some awesome street ball battles. We hooked up with Patrick's sister's roommate Amanda who is a total player.

On the way to the park we stopped off at a cafe to pick up some breakfast and the guy behind the counter was a familiar face from the night before. His name is Tom and he had come to see our show in San Francisco, and by chance he was also working at the cafe in the park in Oakland. He was super nice and hooked us up with a ton of delicious cookies for free!

Thanks Tom!

Then when we got to the courts, Amanda totally dominated on us. She was like the park bully rejected all of our shots! No wonder she owned a ball already. She was serious! When it came to playing h-o-r-s-e though, all of my wacky shots couldn't be touched. We are editing a video we made of some of our season highlights, so check back soon for the hits!

After that we headed back to the house to where Yoshimi and Patrick rested up for a little bit. But, they had to deal with Kiyoshi, the super scary house cat who loves to scratch you when you are sleeping. He made a funny beard on a napping Patrick with his tail.

And then tried to eat Yoshimi later.

In the night Tim took us to a restaurant called Ponzu, where his super nice friend gave us the total hook-up on crazy delicious food from different parts of Asia.
Thank you!

In the night we caught the last train back to Oakland and randomly ran into Nigel, whose band bear claw we had played with the night before.

I am starting to feel like San Francisco must be a pretty small town to keep running into all of these people. I really like it here!

7/31 Tuesday:

In the morning I cut Patrick's hair which was too dumb looking to deal with anymore. He has only been cutting it himself for a long time which was too apparent.

After that we went downtown to pick up our rent-a-car. The guy at the place was really nice and upgraded to a really nice, really new, super spacious car for free. So we drove it down to The Mission to meet with Sean Talley and Erica at there work, Orange Design. Orange Design is a company that makes educational games for children, and Sean is one of my favorite artists in the world. His blog is definitely the best one I have ever seen. Their office is in the highest building in the Mission district, so the view is incredible.

After that we made about an hour trip out to meet Ryan Germick at the Google Headquarters. You might know Ryan from this video. I heard it has already got more than 5 million hits so far!

Google is crazy! It is like heaven!
They have free blue bikes all around.

And, the food is so delicious (and so free too!) We had artichoke pesto pasta with tons of vegetables, fish, a salad, bread with humus, fried tomatoes, collared greens, soup, and fruit.

And, they even have their own Google ice cream sandwiches too!

And, then we found the best thing ever in one of their many play areas...

a pool full of balls!

I never really thought about search engine preferences before, but now I know my favorite. Thanks google, dinner was delicious!
